Rizal Dairy Farms, the pioneer of small scale, farmstead dairy production

Established in 1992, with its farm in Teresa, Rizal Dairy Farms is a pioneer of small scale dairy production in the Philippines through the development of high quality dairy products following Swiss standards and recipes.  Since 1994 Rizal Dairy Farms is serving the hotel and restaurant industry in Metro Manila, Boracay, Cebu and Davao with its great tasting, always freshly produced dairy products.

Pioneering in product development

We were the first privately owned dairy farm in the Philippines which produced ricotta, mozzarella, yoghurts plain and fruit based, Greek yoghurt, and the latest addition, cheese curd. Up to date, we are the only one to produce Swiss Quark, which is a low fat alternative to cream cheese for baking and dips, as well as the preparation of desserts.

Pioneering participant in Weekend Markets

Rizal Dairy Farms is a founding member of OPTA (Organic Producers Trade Association) and the Organic Producers Market at Greenbelt.  We participated from the very start in the setting up of the Sidcor market, which became the Lung Center market, and eventually moved to Centris, the current location of the Sunday market. We are proud of having been among the first vendors at the Salcedo Saturday market as well, and are happy to serve our patrons for so many years every Saturday, rain or sunshine.

Our Rizal Dairy Farms’Greenshop at the open air section of the Market Market in Fort Bonifacion, Taguig has been serving our patrons since the first day of its opening. Many smaller restaurants and private clients come here to conveniently pick up their orders, when they can’t meet the minimum of P 3,000.00 for delivery within Metro Manila. Upon request, we do direct deliveries to private clients and small distributors in some provinces.

our leading philosophy from the start. A pioneering advocate of organic food production and processing in the Philippines and worldwide through our active participation in OPTA (Organic Producers Trade Association, OCCP (Organic Certification Center of the Philippines) and IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements). In all the three organizations, we served in the respective boards of directors. Knowing that legislation is key to the support of organic farmers in the country, we were, as part of the organic movement, strongly engaged in the design and lobbying of the“Organic Law”, Republic Act no 10068, an Act providing for the development and promotion of organic agriculture (enacted in 2009).

Products, raw material and ingredients

We believe in fresh, great tasting, locally produced dairy products as part of a healthy diet.

Today Rizal Dairy Farms uses cows’and carabao (Water Buffalo) milk to produce fresh dairy products following Swiss standards and recipes.

We do not use any artificial flavorings, preservatives, starches, sugar or other synthetic processing aids. Our milk is pasteurized, but not homogenized. We are known for and are proud of being the  first local dairy producer to offer full fat, low fat and non fat dairy products such as Kesong Puti, Ricotta Cheese, Mozzarella Balls, Boconccini (Mozzarellini), Swiss Quark, Sour Cream and an array of yogurts with health promoting pro-biotics in different qualities and flavors from plain non-fat to creamy  yogurt, as well as full fat and low fat Greek, all sugar free and fruit flavored yoghurts, which are prepared with fresh fruit purees and little sugar added. The newest product is Cheese Curd, an ideal cheese for grilling and baking. In Canada it is used to prepare the popular dish “Putine”.

The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) of DOST has published a Training Manual for Organic Agriculture in the Philippines.

The Training Manual can be used as a self-study handbook for those who would like to engage in organic farming.

Go Negosyo Agri Entrepreneur Award

The Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc. –Go Negosyo has held its first AGRI- NEGOSYO SUMMIT on July 25, 2014 FRIDAY at the WORLD TRADE CENTER in Pasay City.

This one-day summit aimed to present the Agriculture as a sector with many viable negosyo opportunities. It was aimed to inspire the attendees by featuring successful entrepreneurs in this field and promote as well various agricultural negosyo models.

In addition to the program composed of panel and plenary discussions, a select pool of outstanding agripreneurs have been recognized as this year’s Inspiring Agripreneurs.

Rizal Dairy Farms was one out of 15 awardees to be honoured with his regard. Go Negosyo has selected Rizal Dairy Farms to be one of the finalists for its exemplary performance and innovation in Agri-business.

We are honoured and grateful for such recognition, and hope that it will help to encourage future and present farmers to think like entrepreneurs and uplift their standard of living.
